Miles Raneri is a senior at Tulane University. He is majoring in Design with minors in SLAM (strategy, analytics, leadership, and management), and Studio Arts with a focus in glass blowing. Miles is seeking a career in industrial and product design. He's also interested in art, specifically mixed media sculpture, and recently showed a piece that combined welding and glass at the Newcomb Undergraduate exhibition. He is an FAA-licensed drone pilot and was a member of the championship-winning Tulane University Varsity Sailing Team. Miles grew up in San Francisco, California, where he discovered his passion for design and building, and was a four-time Maker Faire “Editors Choice” blue ribbon winner. (Projects included a remote-controlled blimp, amphibious vehicle, and modern reinterpretation of Leonardo DaVinci’s armored tank.) In high school, he also designed an inexpensive, portable wind-power solution for underdeveloped countries.
