Community Center
Located in Uptown New Orleans, this community center serves as a gathering space for all members of the local community, including families, students, and young people. The center has a multi-purpose room which can hold events, and there is a recreation area with pool tables where users can come to relax and hang out with friends. It features an area with a large TV and video games to keep teens occupied, and a work area with a sliding door to create a quiet, productive space. The interior features industrial warehouse design elements embracing the history if the site.
Spaces
The view to the right shows the workspace flowing right into the multipurpose area, separated by sliding glass doors. Below, on the right, the multipurpose room is shown set up for a concert or presentation. On the left, the hangout room is pictured. At the top of the page, a view looking out from the kitchen across the rec area is shown.
