Pine Lamp

This lamp is inspired by the growth pattern of pine needles. The pine needles grow in a triangular, twisting pattern creating a star. After experimenting with making different star-shaped lamps, the triangle gave the most compelling shape within this structure. The moments of twist within the structure of the pine needles are also incorporated into the lamp.

The lamp is built with a custom-fabricated steel frame. The frame consists of two triangles, offset by 60 degrees. The larger triangle has a side length 3 times the bottom one. Yarn is then woven onto the structure to serve as the shade. The components pictured below are used to secure the light, and the cord runs though the largest of the legs.
