Contemplation is my first cast work. It was cast using a wooden mold. Under the guidance of Prof. Gene Koss, we carved a two-faced mold out of wooden blocks that were hinged like a book. The blocks were kept submerged in water for the duration of the project, and were only removed to pour a cast. This sculpture was initially inspired by the roof structure that is raised above the WWII museum in New Orleans, but has since taken on a different meaning.
